About Me
Public Administrator ~ DEI Educator ~ Medical Sociologist
Assistant Professor ~ Diversity Consultant
Through my research as a medical sociologist and public administrator, I explore how social factors such as race, socioeconomic status, and neighborhood characteristics influence the equitable effects of public policy initiatives.
I am also a trained Intergroup Dialogue Facilitator specializing in the topic of advanced race and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Educator and Advocate. In addition to teaching various diversity-focused courses at Villanova, I am also the Principal of my diversity consulting group, DNG Consulting. We specialize in diversity, equity, and inclusion consulting and training for small municipalities, non-profit organizations, and private companies with fewer than 50 employees.
I have been a full time faculty member at Villanova since the Fall of 2014 and currently teach graduate-level courses in public administration theory, applied data analysis, health planning & equity, and intergroup relations in public administration. I also co-facilitate an intergroup relations course in Villanova’s Charles Wagner School of Law, and a cultural competency course in the Master of Science in Human Resource Development program.
